Aproximaciones teórico-metodológicas en estudios territoriales
Los capítulos que integran este libro surgen de las contribuciones exploratorias realizadas por un equipo de jóvenes investigadoras quienes participaron en el proceso de formación teórica y metodológica virtual ofrecido durante 2021 por el semillero de investigación Territorialidades Urbano-Rurales en la Ciudad Contemporánea, promovido por el profesor e investigador Manuel Enrique Pérez Martínez de la Facultad de Estudios Ambientales y Rurales de la Pontificia Universidad Javeriana. No obstante el aislamiento producido por la pandemia del covid-19, el uso de los medios virtuales de comunicación posibilitó el encuentro con personas de diversos orígenes y lugares, así fue como la promoción del mencionado semillero se realizó a través de las redes sociales que dio como resultado la integración de intereses temáticos comunes entre personas ubicadas en lugares geográficos que no hubiese sido posible conectar en las condiciones del desarrollo de procesos de investigación convencional.
Estudios del rururbano en América Latina
El presente libro es el resultado de investigación de distintos proyectos en América Latina que se enlazan desde el Programa-Red Estudios del Rururbano en América Latina (ELER). Por este motivo, es necesario, antes de continuar con los antecedentes que llevan al ELER a pensar en una segunda publicación luego de su fundación en 2019, explicar qué entendemos por rururbano . Lo rururbano es una configuración territorial que puede ubicarse básicamente en tres órdenes: en los márgenes del campo y de la ciudad, en lo rural excentrado con modos de vida urbanos-urbanizados en el campo o, también, en los modos de vida rurales de la ciudad. Estos órdenes representan las nuevas realidades del estudio del territorio o, mejor aún, de cómo las realidades socioespaciales que se han ido configurando en las últimas décadas han dado paso al planteamiento de lo que denominamos como territorios rururbanos contemporáneos .

Biodiversity of Angola
This open access multi-authored book presents a 'state of the science' synthesis of knowledge on the biodiversity of Angola, based on sources in peer-reviewed journals, in books and where appropriate, unpublished official reports. The book identifies Angola as one of the most biologically diverse countries in Africa, but notes that its fauna, flora, habitats and the processes that drive the dynamics of its ecosystems are still very poorly researched and documented. This 'state of the science' synthesis is for the use of all students of Angola's biodiversity, and for those responsible for the planning, development and sustainable management of the country's living resources. The volume brings together the results of expeditions and research undertaken in Angola since the late eighteenth century, with emphasis on work conducted in the four decades since Angola's independence in 1975. The individual chapters have been written by leaders in their fields, and reviewed by peers familiar with the region.
Nevogenesis
The “Abtropfung” theory that nevi develop through the migration of nevus cells from the epidermis to the dermis prevailed for almost a century until the “Hochsteigerung” theory postulated the reverse pattern of migration. Most recently, however, new insights gained from epidemiology, cross-sectional and longitudinal studies of nevi, dermoscopy and confocal microscopy, and cellular and molecular studies have brought into question both of these theories. This book provides a comprehensive guide to current knowledge about nevogenesis by presenting these latest advances and in addition discusses issues yet to be resolved. It will assist practicing physicians in effectively managing patients with a variety of nevi and will also be of great value to researchers in the field. Importantly, since nevi are associated with an increased risk of melanoma, understanding nevogenesis may help to unravel some of the mysteries of melanomagenesis.
