Junior
Wat is de hardste slag die je als bokser kunt incasseren? Die ene slag die je niet ziet komen. In Junior vertelt Wouter Woussen het meeslepende verhaal van Jean-Pierre 'Junior' Bauwens. Als kind leerde hij boksen omdat hij dat moest van zijn moeder, maar hij had liever gevoetbald. Junior Bauwens was twaalf toen hij hoorde dat twee van zijn broers en twee van zijn zusjes autistisch waren en waarschijnlijk nooit voor zichzelf zouden kunnen zorgen. Hij werd een boksertje met een doel: hard zijn, beter worden, een titel winnen, geld verdienen voor hen. Toen hij drieëntwintig was, was hij harder en beter, maar hij had nog geen euro opzijgezet. En toen schoot een van zijn broertjes per ongeluk hun vader dood. Wouter Woussen (1978) is journalist bij De Standaard. Junior is zijn debuut.
