Neural Information Processing
The three-volume set of LNCS 12532, 12533, and 12534 constitutes the proceedings of the 27th International Conference on Neural Information Processing, ICONIP 2020, held in Bangkok, Thailand, in November 2020. Due to COVID-19 pandemic the conference was held virtually. The 187 full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from 618 submissions. The papers address the emerging topics of theoretical research, empirical studies, and applications of neural information processing techniques across different domains. The second volume, LNCS 12533, is organized in topical sections on computational intelligence; machine learning; robotics and control.

From the eleventh through the seventeenth centuries, the publishers of Jianyang in Fujian province played a conspicuous role in the Chinese book trade. Unlike the products of government and educational presses, their publications were destined for the retail book market. Genetic History of Human Populations Along the Ancient Silk Road
The Silk Road, a historical network of interlinking trade routes across the Afro-Eurasian landmass, was of great importance to the transport of peoples, goods, and ideas between the East and the West. Although its main use was for importing silk from China, traders moving in the opposite direction carried to Central China jewellery, glassware, and other exotic goods from the Mediterranean, jade from Khotan, and horses and furs from the nomads of the Steppe. The Silk Road brought together the achievements of the different peoples of Eurasia to advance the Old World as a whole.
China and New Left Visions
Against the dire consequences of China’s market development, a new intellectual force of the New Left has come on the scene since the mid 1990s. New Left intellectuals debate the issues of social justice, distributive equality, markets, state intervention, the socialist legacy, and sustainable development. Against the neoliberal trends of free markets, liberal democracy, and consumerism, New Left critics launched a critique in hopes of seeking an alternative to global capitalism. This book investigates the interface of ethnicity with occupation, empirically observed in luxury international hotels in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It employs the two main disciplines of anthropology and sociology in order to understand the root causes and meaning of ethnicity at work within the hospitality industry sector.
