Las formas compuestas en el sistema verbal asturiano
Uno de los rasgos gramaticales tradicionalmente considerados al oponer asturiano con castellano ha sido su sistema verbal, caracterizado por un repertorio más reducido de formas y por una distribución diferente de los contenidos por ellas expresados. La distinta organización de los valores temporales radica en la aparente inexistencia en asturiano de una serie de formas compuestas continuadoras del tipo románico habere+participio, y, de hecho, cualquier compuesto de este tipo constatado en el habla ha sido casi siempre analizado como un castellanismo. Este estudio (sincrónico y de orientación funcionalista) quiere proponer una reflexión en torno a estas cuestiones y, a partir de ella, contribuir a una descripción coherente del sistema verbal asturiano.

Like its predecessor and companion volume New Journeys in Iberian Studies, this volume gathers fresh and emerging research in a range of sub-fields of Iberian studies from an international range of established academics and early career researchers. The book provides rich evidence of the breadth and depth of new research being carried out in the dynamic field of Iberian studies at present. As the title suggests, a strong thread running through the collection is concerned with investigating the multiple spaces of tension between the centre and periphery that comprise the Iberian cultural system. Topically, the current situation in Catalonia naturally comes to the fore in a number of chapters and from a range of perspectives. However, in the revisiting of a range of cultural products and historical processes undertaken by the contributors, it can be seen that transoceanic postcolonial relations are not neglected and concerns with history, memory and fiction also weave their way through their work.
Dative constructions in Romance and beyond
This book offers a comprehensive account of dative structures across languages –with an important, though not exclusive, focus on the Romance family. As is well-known, datives play a central role in a variety of structures, ranging from ditransitive constructions to cliticization of indirect objects and differentially marked direct objects, and including also psychological predicates, possessor or causative constructions, among many others. As interest in all these topics has increased significantly over the past three decades, this volume provides an overdue update on the state of the art. Accordingly, the chapters in this volume account for both widely discussed patterns of dative constructions as well as those that are relatively unknown.
