Sustaining Peace In Asean And The Asia-pacific: Preventive Diplomacy Measures

In 2016, the United Nations (UN) General Assembly and the UN Security Council respectively adopted resolutions on the review of the UN peacebuilding architecture, and the concept of 'sustaining peace' was formally presented. Since then, the 'sustaining peace' agenda has gradually become the core strategy of the peace cause of the UN. The agenda for sustaining peace emphasizes capacity-building for conflict prevention at the regional level.Faced with the escalation of the international security challenge, regional organizations are increasingly playing a prominent role. They have become important participants in the international peace and security agenda by enhancing cooperation with the UN....

Centennial Of General Relativity: A Celebration

It has been over 100 years since the presentation of the Theory of General Relativity by Albert Einstein, in its final formulation, to the Royal Prussian Academy of Sciences. To celebrate 100 years of general relativity, World Scientific publishes this volume with a dual goal: to assess the current status of the field of general relativity in broad terms, and discuss future directions. The volume thus consists of broad overviews summarizing major developments over the past decades and their perspective contributions.

Horizon in Frontotemporal Lobar Degeneration Related Disorder

Frontotemporal lobar degeneration (FTLD) encompasses a spectrum of focal neurodegenerative disorders with progressive atrophy of the frontal and temporal lobes. FTLD-related disorders are heterogeneous clinical conditions characterized by social dysfunction and personality changes as well as impairments in language, executive and motor functions. Current clinical diagnostic criteria characterize specific manifestations of FTLD, including transtemporal behavioral dementia (bvFTD), primary progressive aphasia with agrammatic variant (avPPA) and semantic variant (svPPA) subtypes, and movement disorders, including progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP), corticobasal syndrome (CBS), and FTD with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (FTD-ALS).

Neuroimaging Biomarkers and Cognition in Alzheimer’s disease Spectrum

Subjective cognitive decline (SCD) with self-reported concerns and mild cognitive impairment (MCI) are well-established to be at increased risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease (AD) dementia and a clinical continuum of dementia progression as a spectrum of AD. AD may develop from SCD to MCI (early MCI and late MCI) and eventually to AD. Nevertheless, until recently little was known about their pathophysiology associated with cognitive-behavioral syndrome. Although for researchers, scientists and clinicians, the pathophysiology of AD spectrum is an intriguing issue, delineating it in a clear way is far from easy. Taken together, in-depth understanding of neuroimaging-based pathology behind...

Integrated nutrients management: An approach for sustainable crop production and food security in changing climates

Soil health and fertility are continuously declining due to the removal of essential plant nutrients from the soils in the current changing climate scenario. Due to less soil organic carbon (SOC) and growing of high-yielding varieties and hybrids further increases deficiencies of both macro and micronutrients that had a negative impact on soil health, crop productivity, food security, and growers. Integrated nutrients management not only increases crop productivity and growers' income but also increases soil fertility, health, and sustainability in changing climates. Integrated nutrients management (INM) refers to the maintenance of soil fertility and improvement in crop productivity with the application of plant nutrients through the combined application of organic fertilizers (animal manures and plant residues), chemical fertilizers (urea, SSP, DAP, etc.) and bio-fertilizers (beneficial microbes).
