Sundanese books have been printed since 1850 up to the present. This article tries to draw a configuration of printing books in Sundanese for about 100 years in the Dutch colonial and Japanese occupation period. Printing and publishing books in Sundanese was initiated by the Dutch colonial government for the sake of management of their colony. This article discuss three aspects in print culture in Sundanese: (1) the role of government printing house and private publishers; (2) the cultural relationship between manuscript and printed books, and; (3) the changes after the emergence of printed books. Print culture in the Sundanese-speaking community was born and has developed. Its facets have changed from time to time. We notice more than 2200 Sundanese books were published up to the second decade of the 21st century when the technological innovation has proceeded in an enormous pace. However, the importance of Sundanese publication has not diminished in terms of nurturing educated citizens in this digital-oriented society and supporting cultural identity.

Tanduk merupakan sastra lisan dalam khasanah kebudayaan Tuban hingga saat ini masih eksis. Eksistensi tersebut, karena dukungan masyarakat terhadap sastra lisan Tanduk sangat kuat. Dapat dikatakan bahwa Tanduk adalah spirit kelisanan masyarakat Tuban. Ada beberapa jenis Tanduk yang ditampilkan saat kenduren, seperti Tanduk: mangku gegriya, Mantu, Keleman, Wiwitan, Kawit Tandur, Brokohan, Mitoni, Muludan, Kupatan Sapi, Rejeban, Barikan, Manganan, dll. Penulisan Buku ini betujuan untuk memahami struktur naratif yang digunakan tukang tanduk dalam memimpin dan memasrahkan kepungan yang meliputi: formula, ungkapan formulaik, dan tema. Pemahaman tersebut berdasarkan teori Parry-Lord. Selain itu, penulisan ini bertujuan memahami makna sastra lisan tersebut bagi masyarakat setempat berdasarkan teori semiotik Charles Sander Pierce. Tujuan lain dalam penulisan ini adalah memahami fungsi sosial bagi masyarakat pendukungnya berdasarkan teori fungsi Alan Dundes dan Bascom.
Wawacan merupakan karya sastra Sunda yang lahir dalam bentuk tertulis, yaitu mula-mula dengan tulisan tangan (naskah), kemudian dengan cetakan (buku). Tetapi karya ini lebih banyak dikenal dalam bentuk lisan, yaitu dalam pagelaran beluk. Dengan acara inilah masyarakat mewariskan teks wawacan dari generasi ke generasi. Bila dilihat dari segi kuantitasnya, naskah wawacan menduduku jumlah terbanyak di antara naskah-naskah Sunda. Di dalam buku ini dikemukakan berbagai data penelitian yang berkaitan dengan wawacan, baik skripsi, tesis, maupun disertasi. Selain itu, dapat diketahui pula minat akademisi terhadap wawacan ini.
