Henri Hubert was another member of the group of sociologists who developed under the influence of Durkheim. L'ouvrage présente une somme importante du vocabulaire en usage dans la tribu des Ait Hadiddou du Haut Atlas oriental. La collecte a eu lieu dans plusieurs localités du pays de cette tribu entre 1981 et 1991 et principalement dans les villages suivants : Agdal, Amouguer, Aqdim, Imilchil, Outerbate, Timaryine. Le vocabulaire récolté couvre de nombreux champs qui relèvent des pratiques quotidiennes des villageois et, à ce titre, permet de renseigner sur les faits sociaux de la période où la collecte a eu lieu. Loin d'être exhaustif, ce lexique peut être un point de départ pour une recherche approfondie sur la vie du lexique dans la langue et sur la vie des villageois dans leur quotidien.
