ICIIS and ICESTIIS 2021
This book is the proceedings of the 4th International Colloquium on Interdisciplinary Islamic Studies (ICIIS), which was held in conjunction with the 1st International Conference on Education, Science, Technology, Indonesian, and Islamic Studies (ICESTIIS) in Jambi, Indonesia, on 20-21 October 2021, using blended platforms, in person and online. The Graduate School of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta and UIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin, Jambi jointly organized the conference. This conference brought together academic researchers, business professionals, and graduate students to share their experiences and research findings on a wide variety of topics related to interdisciplinary Islamic studies. The proceedings are comprised of 52 high-quality papers chosen from more than 250 submissions. Islam and medicine, Islamic education, Islamic studies, psychology, the Qur'an and Hadith, and science and technology are the six issues covered in the papers. This publication is made possible by the committed steering and organizing committees who oversaw and organized the conference, as well as the reviewers for their academic contributions and commitment to assessing papers.

Valuation of Coastland Resources
National income statistics, which form the basis for measuring and monitoring the performance of an economy, do not include environmental resources adequately, with the result that they fail to provide the required inputs for the formulation of sound economic policies particularly in the context of sustainable development Coastal resources are important in a country like India, which is surrounded by sea from three sides, and mangroves, the salt tolerant forest ecosystem that is one of the richest ecosystems in the world, provides a wide range of ecological and economic products and services including carbon sequestration and protection to life and property under severe cyclones and tsunamis. However, mangroves are neglected as their value is not incorporated in the national income data. The present study, which is a methodological study, compiles economic value of mangroves in India and shows that this rich ecosystem contributes significantly to the economy, and it needs to be strengthened in order to promote sustainable development of coastal regions and to protect coastal population from cyclones and tsunamis. Arbuscular Mycorrhizas and Stress Tolerance of Plants
This book reviews the potential mechanisms in arbuscular mycorrhizas (AMs), in the hope that this can help arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) to be more used efficiently as a biostimulant to enhance stress tolerance in the host plants. AMF, as well as plants, are often exposed to all or many of the abiotic and biotic stresses, including extreme temperatures, pH, drought, water-logging, toxic metals and soil pathogens. Studies have indicated a quick response to these stresses involving several mechanisms, such as root morphological modification, reactive oxygen species change, osmotic adjustment, direct absorption of water by extraradical hyphae, up-regulated expression of relevant stressed genes, glomalin-related soil protein release, etc. The underlying complex, multi-dimensional strategy is involved in morphological, physiological, biochemical, and molecular processes. The AMF responses are often associated with homeostatic regulation of the internal and external environment, and are therefore critical for plant health, survival and restoration in native ecosystems and good soil structure.
