General description of the collection: The Richard A. Dilley collection contains the personnel documents of Dilley from his induction process begun on 31 August 1954 to his discharge from the Reserves in 1958. The collection includes three letters to his parents from 1955 to 1956, his certificates of training and honorable discharge, two pamphlets on veterans' assistance, and three photographs from Dilley's time in the Army, taken around 1955.
Andrew Dilley offers a major new study of financial dependence, examining the connections this dependence forged between the City and political life in Edwardian Australia and Canada, mediated by ideas of political economy. In doing so he reconstructs the occasionally imperialistic politic of finance which pervaded the British World at this time.
