New Approaches to the Economics of Plant Health
The world trade of plants and plant products is gradually increasing in both quantity and variety. Governments respond to increased phytosanitary risks by imposing trade-restricting measures. However, they are under increasing pressure of the private sector and the World Trade Organization to justify costly and trade-restricting phytosanitary policies. On the other side, current phytosanitary policies are required to account for impacts on the environment. This book presents a number of recent scientific developments regarding the economic analysis of impacts that harmful organisms have on agriculture and the environment, and of measures to control these organisms. It also contains a number of new approaches that integrate economic and epidemiological modelling and economic approaches for measuring these impacts.

Agriculture Productivity in Tunisia Under Stressed Environment
This book highlights recent efforts to sustain agricultural productivity in Tunisia under a stressed environment and aridity conditions. This book's authors gathered a unique set of applications and approaches, including techniques applied to increase yield and preserve the environment, such as organic farming and using biochar amendment and its effects on soils' physicochemical properties. This book also presents water resources management and water management practices for sustainable soil production, diagnosis, and new farming technologies to enhance water-use efficiency. The book also addresses current livestock strategies intended to maintain production sustainability, increase fish productivity, and initiatives for sustainable tourism development. Causes and Impacts of Agricultural Structures
While it is trivial to state that agriculture influences the rest of the rural economy and society, it is much less trivial to understand the difference that agricultural structures make to rural environments. As soon as agricultural structures switch from being the dependent to being the independent variable, they may have an impact on the profitability and sustainability of farming, on animal welfare, population development, unemployment or the gender situation. In fact, it would be surprising for most rural areas if domination by small subsistence farmers, by medium-size family farms or by large corporate farming did not make any difference to the rest of rural society. Not only is the diversity of agricultural structures in Europe impressive, but also the diversity of the contributions in this book. They range from technical modelling approaches to descriptive story-telling, from an in-depth analysis of regions to comparative studies of international differences and from normative considerations to positive observations. Altogether, they give an excellent overview of where research into agricultural structures stands today.
Contributions of Agricultural Economics to Critical Policy Issues
