Ziel dieses Organisationsentwicklungshandbuchs ist es, den Einsatz neuer Medien in der Lehre als eine Aufgabe der Institution Hochschule zu beschreiben. Diese Perspektive soll es ermöglichen, die organisatorischen Voraussetzungen für E-Learning darzustellen und daraus Konsequenzen für die Organisationsentwicklung an Hochschulen zu ziehen. Im ersten Teil wird ein theoretischer Rahmen vorgestellt, der es ermöglichen soll, sechs Aufgaben der Organisation Hochschule zu unterscheiden und systematisch zu untersuchen. Im zweiten Teil werden Instrumente der Organisationsentwicklung vorgestellt, die im Rahmen des Projekts PlaNet ET erprobt wurden. Der dritte Teil präsentiert unterschiedliche Positionen zur Organisationsentwicklung, die von renommierten E-Learning-Experten und -Expertinnen im deutschsprachigen Raum vertreten werden.
The volume provides a systematic view on recent and contemporary research into textbooks in a range of contexts. As well as exploring the historical development and the design of textbooks and issues around the teaching of specific subjects, it examines aspects of textbooks relating to cognitive psychology and the influence of textbooks on the learning process. The authors investigate textbooks as foci of teachers' and learners' expectations, their use and the extent to which they meet the challenges of migration and the inclusion of children with disabilities in schools. The recommendations with which the volume concludes provide educational practitioners with guidance for using educational media in the classroom and education policymakers with encouragement to establish the trends the volume describes at the top of the research and education policy agenda.
Mit den politischen Konzepten der nachhaltigen Bioökonomie ist die Hoffnung auf Wirtschaftsformen verbunden, die zirkulär produzieren, erneuerbare Ressourcen nutzen sowie sozial gerechtere Zugänge zu Ressourcen ermöglichen. Die Diskurse zu solchen Konzepten zeigen vorhandene und neu entstehende Konflikte für mögliche Transformationen auf. Die Beiträger*innen des Bandes beschäftigen sich mit der Kommunikation und Wissensvermittlung sowie innovativen Beteiligungsverfahren in Deutschland und Europa. Dabei stellen sie eine frühzeitige Kommunikation und Partizipation verschiedener gesellschaftlicher Gruppen als entscheidend für die Gestaltung einer nachhaltigen Bioökonomie heraus.
What exactly are the characteristics of honors pedagogy? What are the teaching strategies that are particularly relevant and successful for academically gifted and motivated students? In spite of the substantial body of literature about the practice of honors education, largely referring to the United States, very little systematic and empirical research has been done about honors pedagogy. This study contributes to a better understanding of honors pedagogies, focusing not just on what might distinguish honors teaching and learning from standard expectations and methodologies but also on how honors pedagogy offers both instructors and students an opportunity to fundamentally rethink their philosophy of education. The present study points out the similar and different approaches and dispositions in American and Dutch honors teaching. Cultural differences, distinctive educational systems, and diverse priorities play a role in defining both the shared and unique perspectives on honors education in both countries. Therefore, a baseline comparison is made between American and Dutch honors teachers with respect to their teaching strategies.

The booming increase of the senior population has become a social phenomenon and a challenge to our societies, and technological advances have undoubtedly contributed to improve the lives of elderly citizens in numerous aspects. In current debates on technology, however, the »human factor« is often largely ignored. The ageing individual is rather seen as a malfunctioning machine whose deficiencies must be diagnosed or as a set of limitations to be overcome by means of technological devices. This volume aims at focusing on the perspective of human beings deriving from the development and use of technology: this change of perspective - taking the human being and not technology first - may help us to become more sensitive to the ambivalences involved in the interaction between humans and technology, as well as to adapt technologies to the people that created the need for its existence, thus contributing to improve the quality of life of senior citizens.
