Amis et Amiles est une vieille romance française basée sur une légende répandue de l'amitié et du sacrifice. Dans sa forme la plus ancienne et la plus simple, c'est l'histoire de deux amis, dont l'un, Amis, était atteint de la lèpre parce qu'il avait commis un parjure pour sauver son ami. Une vision l'informa qu'il ne pouvait être guéri qu'en se baignant dans le sang des enfants d'Amiles.
