Computer Vision – ECCV 2020

The 30-volume set, comprising the LNCS books 12346 until 12375, constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 16th European Conference on Computer Vision, ECCV 2020, which was planned to be held in Glasgow, UK, during August 23-28, 2020. The conference was held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The 1360 revised papers presented in these proceedings were carefully reviewed and selected from a total of 5025 submissions. The papers deal with topics such as computer vision; machine learning; deep neural networks; reinforcement learning; object recognition; image classification; image processing; object detection; semantic segmentation; human pose estimation; 3d reconstruction; stereo vision; computational photography; neural networks; image coding; image reconstruction; object recognition; motion estimation.

This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 35th German Conference on Pattern Recognition, GCPR 2013, held in Saarbrücken, Germany, in September 2013. The 22 revised full papers and 18 revised poster papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 79 submissions. The papers covers topics such as image processing and computer vision, machine learning and pattern recognition, mathematical foundations, statistical data analysis and models, computational photography and confluence of vision and graphics, and applications in natural sciences, engineering, biomedical data analysis, imaging, and industry.

Probabilistic Models and Inference for Multi-View People Detection in Overlapping Depth Images

In this work, the task of wide-area indoor people detection in a network of depth sensors is examined. In particular, we investigate how the redundant and complementary multi-view information, including the temporal context, can be jointly leveraged to improve the detection performance. We recast the problem of multi-view people detection in overlapping depth images as an inverse problem and present a generative probabilistic framework to jointly exploit the temporal multi-view image evidence.

Proceedings of the 2009 Joint Workshop of Fraunhofer IOSB and Institute for Anthropomatics, Vision and Fusion Laboratory

The joint workshop of the Fraunhofer Institute of Optronics, System Technologies and Image Exploitation IOSB, Karlsruhe, and the Vision and Fusion Laboratory (Institute for Anthropomatics, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT)), is organized annually since 2005 with the aim to report on the latest research and development findings of the doctoral students of both institutions. This book provides a collection of 16 technical reports on the research results presented on the 2009 workshop.

World Modeling for Intelligent Autonomous Systems

The functioning of intelligent autonomous systems requires constant situation awareness and cognition analysis. Thus, it needs a memory structure that contains a description of the surrounding environment (world model) and serves as a central information hub. This book presents a row of theoretical and experimental results in the field of world modeling. This includes areas of dynamic and prior knowledge modeling, information fusion, management and qualitative/quantitative information analysis.
