Whether good or bad, relationships make up and determine how the world turns. Considering how the world looks today, one could say relationships are not reaching their maximum potential. The discovery of the greatest power in existence is available for everyone. whether you are a child, an adolescent, an adult, or senior. This God given ability is accessible to you for good success in relationships of any kind. Discovering the key to successful relationships by reclaiming your true value. Is a very simple process that will literally change the way to which you engage relationships with those in your life. My book "The Power of Self" is a guide and tool that will aid the reader in discovering their true value and purpose in relationships of any kind. The world is made up of people, and people determine the quality of life that the world will offer. But, most just don't know, or lack understanding regarding their purpose and value in life's cycle. It is my goal with this project that people from every age group and every culture will discover their true value and ignite change for better relationships, and a better world .
Enlightenment, Nationalism, Orthodoxy
The first section of this volume aims to examine various aspects of the impact of Enlightenment thought in the Balkans in the 18th and 19th centuries. Particular topics include the idea of modernization, with respect to the role of science or the position of women, and the growth of new forms of political consciousness, but Professor Kitromilides is throughout concerned with the conflict between these incoming political, cultural and religious ideas and the traditions of Orthodoxy which had dominated the region under the Ottomans. Of the articles, a number focus specifically on the Greek world, both before and after the creation of an independent Greek world, and extend the coverage to include Greek communities beyond Europe. Similarly, the second part of the volume, on dilemmas of nationalism, looks also at Greek irredentism in Asia Minor and Cyprus. The final item combines bibliographical additions with the author’s further reflections on the subjects covered here and their historiography.
A Rough and Rocky Place
The uncompromising nature of the landscape of the Methana Peninsula in Greece, and its overall isolation, have been dominating factors in the peninsula's history. This is a report of major fieldwork undertaken following a brief reconnaissance in the summer of 1981. A more detailed exploratory study was made a year later, and it soon became obvious that the settlement history of the peninsula was more complex than it had been thought to be, when a number of unrecorded sites were discovered. Honors to Eileithyia at Ancient Inatos
In 1962, after a period of secret looting, the location of a shrine for the Greek Goddess Eileithyia was discovered by the police in south-central Crete at the modern town of Tsoutsouros, ancient Inatos. The cave dedicated to this ancient goddess of childbirth and motherhood was excavated that year by Nikolaos Platon and Costis Davaras on behalf of the Archaeological Museum in Herakleion. It was filled with remarkable votive gifts including over 100 items of gold along with Egyptian figurines and seal stones, bronze objects, and hundreds of clay figurines. The dates of the shrine's use extended from before 2000 B.C. to the Roman Imperial period. Many of the clay images are especially appropriate for this deity because they include pregnant women, embracing couples, figures in preparation for childbirth, mothers holding babies, and a young child in its crib. A Greek language book highlighting the shrine and its major discoveries is now translated into English. It provides images, catalog entries, and explanatory texts for the most important discoveries from this unique shrine.
