New Brethren in Flanders

New Brethren in Flanders is the story of the planting and remarkable growth of Brethren churches in the Dutch-speaking part of Belgium at the end of the twentieth century. The Evangelische Christengemeenten Vlaanderen (ECV) began in the early 1970s as a result of evangelistic church-planting efforts led by a group of Canadian Christian Brethren missionaries. In just under twenty years, the ECV grew from one evangelistic, home Bible study to over thirty local churches in Flanders, the Netherlands, and Germany composed almost entirely of newly converted evangelical Christians. As one of those who grew up in these churches notes, "The Spirit of God, through the ECV's founders, built up an altogether masterly piece of work right in front of us."

This book deals with the management of difficult breast augmentation revision cases. After critically reviewing the complication rate in aesthetic breast augmentation, the authors go on to discuss the importance of the inframammary fold. Moreover, this book provides detailed instructions on how to manage capsular contracture; wrinkling; animation deformity; implant rotation and waterfall deformities; symmastia; implant rupture; infection and implant exposure; double bubble; and bottoming out. Each chapter starts with a short explanation of the complication, followed by step-by-step revision procedures. Checklists, high-quality images, flowcharts and bullet point-like presentations will help surgeons solve these various problems. Well-structured chapters and a concise format make this book a quick reference guide that aids clinicians in making decisions and providing treatment.

The Civilising Offensive

"This volume offers a multifaceted selection of studies on 19th-century Belgian reformers and initiatives they instigated to solve the ‘social question’ by ‘civilising’ and moralising the lower classes. Around 1850 Belgium was continental Europe’s most heavily industrialised state. From the mid-century until the Belle Époque many international social reform associations were based in Belgium, as well as their main international actors. This book aims to place the history of social, moral and educational reform in Belgium during the long 19th century within a broader European perspective. This collection of contributions by both young and established scholars from various disciplinary backgrounds not only fills some gaps in Belgian historiography, but also offers a better understanding of broad epochal processes such as the bourgeois civilising offensive, the expansion of educational action and the historical growth of welfare states.
