Advances in Design Engineering
This book gathers the papers presented at the XXIX International Congress INGEGRAF “The digital transformation in graphic engineering,” which was held in Logroño, Spain on June 20–21, 2019. It reports on cutting-edge topics in product design and manufacturing, such as industrial methods for integrated product and process design; innovative design; and computer-aided design. Further topics covered include virtual simulation and reverse engineering; additive manufacturing; product manufacturing; engineering methods in medicine and education; representation techniques; and design and modeling for nautical, engineering and construction, aeronautics and aerospace contexts. The book is divided into six main sections, reflecting the focus and primary themes of the conference. A partir do discurso autoetnográfico a professora, pesquisadora e ativista Malu Jimenez expõe as violências gordofóbicas a que os corpos gordos femininos estão submetidos desde a infância até a fase adulta. Através de análises teóricas, entrevistas e depoimentos a autora investiga a estigmatização institucionalizada e a patologização do corpo gordo do ponto de vista sociocultural, ao mesmo tempo que salienta a importância da internet para a criação de espaços para a militância antigordofóbica e o ativismo gordo. O livro é resultado da tese de doutorado de Malu Jimenez, que agora ganha nova edição, com novo projeto gráfico e novas fotos. Disenchanted Modernities
Mega-Infrastructure Projects (MIPs) represent a central element of globalized development. MIPs like the Chinese driven `Belt and Road Initiative' (BRI) include large-scale agrarian, road, rail, port and energy networks. They are complex ventures involving international capital and multiple stakeholders. `Disenchanted Modernities' presents 16 case studies showing that the promise of a sustainable modern development by MIPs leave many local users disenchanted: They don't profit from the MIPs but lose access to their resources often held in common. The book describes the strategies of states and companies as well as local responses to MIPs in Asia, Africa, Americas and Europe.
A Companion to Golden Age Theatre
Spain's artistic Golden Age produced Cervantes's great novel, Don Quijote, the sublime poetry of Quevedo and G ngora, and nurtured the prodigious talent of Vel zquez, and yet it was the theatre that captured the imagination of its people.
