El libro Determinación de los parámetros morfométricos en cuencas empleando Sistemas de Información Geográfica, se ofrece como un texto para estudiantes de cursos de hidrología en los niveles de pregrado y posgrado, así como para ingenieros consultores interesados en aplicar una metodología basada en la implementación de los Sistemas de Información Geográfica para el análisis morfométrico de cuencas hidrográficas, por medio de la cual es posible la optimización del tratamiento y análisis de la información espacial. En los primeros capítulos del libro se presenta una amplia descripción de los principales conceptos teóricos sobre las cuencas hidrográficas, su morfometría y la red de drenaje. This book has three main recommendations. First, it is necessary to generate basic standards, quality goals, and quality measurement systems. Second, once quality can be measured, a clear system of accountability should be implemented based on these standards and quality goals. The clients will play a central role in these systems by demanding their rights to quality services; this will only become possible once there are standards and goals that clarify clients' rights. Third, once there are standards and systems of accountability, investment is needed to strengthen the institutional capacity of the providers.

Delirio—The Fantastic, the Demonic, and the Réel
Striking, inexplicable stories circulate among the people of Nuevo León in northern Mexico. Stories of conversos (converted Jews) who fled the Inquisition in Spain and became fabulously wealthy in Mexico. Stories of women and children buried in walls and under houses. Stories of an entire, secret city hidden under modern-day Monterrey. All these stories have no place or corroboration in the official histories of Nuevo León. In this pioneering ethnography, Marie Theresa Hernández explores how the folktales of Nuevo León encode aspects of Nuevolenese identity that have been lost, repressed, or fetishized in "legitimate" histories of the region. She focuses particularly on stories regarding three groups: the Sephardic Jews said to be the "original" settlers of the region, the "disappeared" indigenous population, and the supposed "barbaric" society that persists in modern Nuevo León. Hernández's explorations into these stories uncover the region's complicated history, as well as the problematic and often fascinating relationship between history and folklore, between officially accepted "facts" and "fictions" that many Nuevoleneses believe as truth.
