Profound and conceptual analysis of linkages between CSR and financial performance Overview of recent empirical studies in CSR Econometric analysis of relation between corporate social and firm performance
This book examines selected actions and investments of the European Central Bank (ECB) from a climate and sustainability standpoint. Shedding new light on the topic from various angles – ethical, philosophical, political, economical and legal – it situates sustainability mainstreaming in the finance and investment field at all levels. The former ECB President Mario Draghi once said that he considered sustainable development and an intact environment to be human rights, and therefore enshrined in the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights. The acting ECB President Christine Lagarde added that the future path for the climate is uncertain, but it would remain within our power to influence it. However, with all that in mind the ECB’s policy of buying assets as securities is often questionable. This volume analyzes these actions in connection with sustainability, and puts forward practical recommendations for improving the ECB’s investment strategy on its way creating a sustainable financial market.
Building on a comprehensive approach to the concept of sustainable development, the interdisciplinary project group "Ethical-Ecological Rating" has developed a scientifically based criteriology for ethical assessment of enterprises and capital investment, the "Frankfurt-Hohenheim-Guidelines." With these guidelines, business activities can be evaluated for their positive or negative contribution to environmental, social, and cultural sustainable development. Lucia A. Reisch teaches economics and business administration at the University of Stuttgart-Hohenheim.

The indispensability of radio as efficient and effective means of communication in today's African society is indisputable. However, for this medium to be useful in Africa or Enugu State--Nigeria, it has to be changed from being a means of transmitting to people but also of receiving from them. It has to be a radio that allows rural listeners not only to hear but should also to be the people's parliament, where the voice of the people can be heard. The author explores the development of community radio in different parts of Africa with particular reference to Enugu State, Nigeria. He proposes that "community radio" is a desideratum for genuine development to take place in Enugu State. Joseph Okechukwu Offor is a catholic priest of the Enugu diocese in Nigeria. He studied philosophy and theology in Rome and Frankfurt am Main, where he completed his doctoral thesis. He currently works at the "Domradio" in Cologne which belongs to the arch-diocese of Cologne, Germany.
Management communication encompasses a wide range of practices that define modern organizations. Those practices are, in many respects, constituted, formed and contextualized by the use of language. This handbook traces the theoretical modelling of these practices by contemporary research. It explores their linguistic features and performance in specific situations of value creation and in various modes. It is a companion for students and scholars of applied linguistics and organizational communication as well as management and strategy research.
