Por conta da pandemia da Covid-19, neste ano de 2021, o VI Seminário Internacional Hispano-Luso-Brasileiro sobre Direitos Fundamentais e Políticas Públicas teve de ocorrer de modo totalmente remoto e fracionado: (i) nos dias 26 e 27 de abril com as Universidades de Santa Cruz do Sul e Coruña/Espanha; (ii) nos dias 13 e 14 de outubro, entre as Universidades de Santa Cruz do Sul e Minho/Portugal, oportunidade em que pesquisadores docentes e discentes, dos programas de Doutoramento e Mestrado destas instituições, realizaram amplos debates envolvendo seus temas de pesquisas e formação, no campo dos Direitos Fundamentais e proteção de dados, das relações entre Estado, Administração Pública e Sociedade, dos grupos vulneráveis e proteção insuficiente, e os desafios emergentes do Estado de Direito Democrático.
