Advanced Fracture Mechanics and Structural Integrity is organized to cover quantitative descriptions of crack growth and fracture phenomena. The mechanics of fracture are explained, emphasizing elastic-plastic and time-dependent fracture mechanics. Applications are presented, using examples from power generation, aerospace, marine, and chemical industries, with focus on predicting the remaining life of structural components and advanced testing metods for structural materials. Numerous examples and end-of-chapter problems are provided, along with references to encourage further study. The book is written for use in an advanced graduate course on fracture mechanics or structural integrity.

This book will bring fundamental change in our understanding of phenomenon of gravitation, after Newton and Einstein, by taking it to quantum level as QUANTUM GRAVITATION. So far scientists have been using only four dimensions to describe universe, out of which three dimensions of Space describe WHAT, fourth dimension of Time describes WHEN and for the first time author has included Energy as fifth dimension which explains HOW UNIVERSE WORKS. In this simple book we will Study basic of all basics, to examine ‘the world around us’; which will change our picture of universe for ever. Here the author explains in a different perceptive both to common man and serious scholars of Science; what ...

The Geometrical string theory TREO MODEL is a compelling theory that challenges our understanding of the universe. By introducing energy as the fifth dimension, the model transforms the traditional space-time continuum into an omnipresent space matrix with three interdependent components: Space, Time, and Energy. According to the model, the contraction of space causes kinetic energy to erupt, and time to slow down. As the matrix contracts layer by layer in increasing number of dimensions of Space-time, it forms the fields of all four basic forces, including gravity. While the figure on the front cover page, suggests that all bodies are pushed equally from all sides to be supported, the model proposes that when another body comes into the gravitational field of any body, both bodies get inadequate support from the common shared space matrix in between. This leads to the falling of bodies towards each other, which is perceived as the gravitational attraction of the other body.

Fracture mechanics is an essential tool for engineers in a number of different engineering disciplines. For example, an engineer in a metals- or plastics-dependent industry might use fracture mechanics to evaluate and characterize materials, while another in aerospace or construction might use fracture mechanics-based methods for product design and service life-time estimation. This balanced treatment, which covers both applied engineering and mathematical aspects of the topic, provides a much-needed multidisciplinary treatment of the field suitable for the many diverse applications of the subject. While texts on linear elastic fracture mechanics abound, no complete treatments of the complex...

Colour Atlas of Medicinal Plants

Proper identification of medicinal plants is still a great problem at this time. It has also drawn the attention from common men in general and scholars in the medical streams. In the light of the above, the curiosity about the sources of the medicines, medicinal plants in most of the cases, has drawn considerable interest among all quarters of the medical science. In addition, in the absence of proper knowledge related to the identification of medicinal plants, many plants remained either unidentified or wrongly identified. In this book, an attempt is made to fill the above identified gaps. It is my firm belief that this book will be of immense use to Ayurveda experts, teachers, students of post-graduates and under-graduates Ayurvedic courses, researchers, students of botany, scientists, pharmacologists, pharmaceutical organizations, pharmacists, biochemists, medical men and even common men.

My City Links: July 2022 Issue

The past two years saw Rath Yatra celebrations without devotees as everyone grappled with the deadly COVID 19 pandemic. This year’s event comes amid renewed hope that the worst is behind us. In our Cover Story, we look at the preparations for the annual religious festival that promises to be back with the same grand splendour that it has always been associated with. With expectations of a huge crowd of devotees this time, it is little surprise that the allied functions associated with the Rath Yatra are also back in business. Flying into the danger zone is something that Commander Amit Mohapatra has been doing for many years. Recently, he added another feather to his cap when he became the...

Ayurvedic Medicinal Plants of India (Vol. 2)

In recent years interest in medicinal plants has increased considerably world wide. However, it is felt that there seems a very little literature available which addresses to all aspects of medicinal plant species from the point of view of Ayurved, botany, ecology, chemical and medical science. The best of knowledge of the author, there appears hardly any book, which provides readers good quality photographs of medicinal plants with their details from all perspectives. This book presents more than five hundred colour photographs of medicinal plants available in the Indian sub-continent. The book also throws light on more than five thousand tested and applied clinical formulas, which will fur...

Ayurvedic Medicinal Plants of India (Vol. 1)

In recent years interest in medicinal plants has increased considerably world wide. It is felt that there is no single book available which contains all aspects of medicinal plant as Ayurvedic, botanical, ecological, chemical and medicinal information regarding the same plant species. No any book available that have good and disguisable colour photos of every medicinal plant. This is the first book which have more than 500 coloured photos of Indian sub-continental. Here are more than 5000 useful and experienced clinical formulas. This book endeavored to fill up this blank by bringing out this work. This profusely illustrated book will be immensely useful to Ayurvedic students of under-graduates and post-graduates courses, Ayurvedic doctors, lecturers, researchers, students of botany, scientists, pharmacologists, pharmaceutical organizations, pharmacists, biochemists, medical men and even common men. This book contains following data.

Modern Applied Fracture Mechanics presents a practical, accessible guide to understanding and applying basic linear elastic fracture mechanics (LEFM) techniques to problems commonly seen in industry, including fatigue analysis, failure analysis, and damage tolerance. Including applications for several software programs, AFGROW, MATLAB®, ABAQUS, and a web-based FM calculator, the book discusses appropriate models, assumptions, and typical input/output parameters. It provides a framework that will enable readers to quickly learn and use fracture mechanics (FM) software packages and/or write their own code to solve unique or standard FM problems. The book covers the fundamental concepts needed...
