İktisadi ve İdari Bilimler Alanında Uluslararası Araştırmalar 3

Günümüzde kamu yönetimi, iktisat, işletme, siyaset, tarih ve sosyoloji gibi farklı disiplinlerde meydana gelen değişim ve gelişmeler zincirleme etki sayesinde kendi dışındaki disiplinler üzerinde de tesirler yaratmaktadır. Dolayısıyla sosyal bilimlerin birçok alanında ortaya çıkan değişimi tek dinamik ile açıklamak, ele alınan konunun eksik anlaşılmasına yol açacaktır. Bu açıdan güncel konular üzerine yürütülen çalışmalar disiplinler arası dayanışma ve araştırmayı gerekli kılmaktadır.

Arabic as a Secret Song

The celebrated and highly versatile writer Leïla Sebbar was born in French colonial Algeria but has lived nearly her entire adult life in France, where she is recognized as a major voice on the penetrating effects of colonialism in contemporary society. The dramatic contrast between her past and present is the subject of the nine autobiographical essays collected in this volume. Written between 1978 and 2006, they trace a journey that began in Aflou, Algeria, where her father ran a schoolhouse, and continued to France, where Sebbar traveled, alone, as a graduate student before eventually realizing her powerful creative vision. The pieces collected in this book capture an array of experience...

Transition to a market economy is a lengthy process comprised of various spheres of economic activities. The naive belief that a market economy can be introduced by "shock therapy" is wrong, and in several cases, when attempted, has caused more problems than it has solved. Because a market economy requires adequate institutional structures and an appropriate behavior, transition can be executed only in a gradual manner, since these are very gradual processes based upon new organizations, new laws, and the changing behavior of various economic entities. In 1989, influential financial organizations, political bodies, and professional economists seemed to agree upon main points for economic pol...

Persuasion

An expert in the study of mass communications and an expert on interpersonal communication bring together contributions that explore the ways in which we are persuaded. Essays cover three major aspects of the subject: theory and definition of persuasion, factors in the persuasion process, and the application of persuasion to negotiation, marketing, family relationships and politics. 'This collection seemed to me a good review of a fascinating field. As a therapist, I found I was able to pull together a range of ideas that I considered worthy of development and application...Though not written with therapists in mind, this book represented for me an introduction to a new range of possibilities for influencing people towards

Understanding Global Migration

Understanding Global Migration offers scholars a groundbreaking account of emerging migration states around the globe, especially in the Global South. Leading scholars of migration have collaborated to provide a birds-eye view of migration interdependence. Understanding Global Migration proposes a new typology of migration states, identifying multiple ideal types beyond the classical liberal type. Much of the world's migration has been to countries in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and South America. The authors assembled here account for diverse histories of colonialism, development, and identity in shaping migration policy. This book provides a truly global look at the dilemmas of migration governance: Will migration be destabilizing, or will it lead to greater openness and human development? The answer depends on the capacity of states to manage migration, especially their willingness to respect the rights of the ever-growing portion of the world's population that is on the move.
