Una de las principales preocupaciones de los docentes es la falta de motivación en clase por parte de los alumnos, ya que sin motivación no se produce aprendizaje (véase por ejemplo: Huertas, 1997; Pozo, 1999 o Míguez, 2001, entre otros). En España este tema se ha convertido en uno de los problemas centrales de la educación en España (Valle et al., 2006). Por esta razón, en este Simposio hemos tratado de analizar estrategias implementadas en las aulas, de distintas Universidades españolas, para poder estimular la voluntad de aprender por parte de los alumnos, cuya característica principal es la desmotivación.
La escasa motivación de los estudiantes por aprender se ha convertido en un tema altamente preocupante y relevante en el ámbito académico. En los siguientes capítulos se pretende reflexionar y analizar posibles soluciones que el profesorado podría implementar en sus aulas universitarias con la finalidad de contribuir de alguna manera a mejorar la motivación del alumno. La razón es clara: el éxito académico es clave para el futuro destino profesional y consideramos que la motivación es el ingrediente principal para alcanzarlo.
