La mémoire du futur
Chili, 18 octobre 2019: un soulèvement populaire d’une ampleur inédite ébranle le système néolibéral maintenu depuis la fin de la dictature de Pinochet. 4 septembre 2022: la proposition constitutionnelle élaborée par la Constituante issue de cette révolte est rejetée par référendum. Pendant ces trois ans, les mouvements sociaux ont mené un processus de politisation d’une rare intensité, nourrissant les débats dans et en dehors de la Constituante. L’expérience politique ainsi acquise, précieuse en enseignements qui vont bien au-delà du Chili, fraie une voie originale, celle de la réinvention de la démocratie comprise comme activité de tous les citoyens, et non comme le monopole de politiciens professionnels. Une telle réinvention se poursuivra, d’une manière ou d’une autre. Elle requiert un travail de l’imagination politique qui interdit toute volonté de restaurer ou de reproduire un lointain passé idéalisé ou de reproduire les récents gouvernements «progressistes». Un exercice que les féministes chiliennes nomment la «mémoire du futur».
