En estas páginas resuenan las voces de quienes luchan por sus ideales; entre ellas la historia de una joven mujer, “de su empeño por recuperar la memoria que no es de ella sola sino de todos”.En este volumen entregamos la segunda edición de la primera parte de la trilogía Fin de siglo, un fresco que reconstruye la atmósfera del último tercio del siglo XX mexicano a partir de la sensibilidad de una generación, sus deseos, sus frustraciones y sus sueños.Son relatos de ficción pero inspirados en hechos reales: Hotel Balmori en el asesinato de Rubén Jaramillo, el movimiento del 68 y la guerra sucia de los años setenta; Septiembre en los terremotos del 85 y el drama de los desaparecidos políticos; Xalostoc en la insurgencia obrera y la corrupción gubernamental. Las tres novelas pueden leerse independientemente una de otra, no tienen una línea argumental común aunque comparten escenografías y contextos históricos.

En 1975 Martín Médanos participó como militante de izquierda en la huelga que a la postre se convertiría en emblemática del auge del movimiento obrero independiente mexicano. Posteriormente, en 1992, se ve inmerso en una intriga policiaca. Hundido en un pantano y arrastrado en una carrera vertiginosa cuyo sentido ignora, recurre a su viejo enemigo el ex policía judicial Virgilio Lima. A través de una trama que se desenvuelve intensa, sin pausa y con humor, los personajes encuentran una telaraña de intereses cuyo conocimiento implica riesgos letales para ellos. Xalostoc cierra la trilogía Fin de siglo, que empezó con Hotel Balmori (Joaquín Mortiz, 2004) y continuó con Septiembre (Itaca, 2010), y pinta un fresco que recrea la atmósfera política y anímica del último tercio del Siglo XX mexicano.

The Kurdistan Region Statistics Office needs to build capacity to collect the data. RAND worked closely with the Office to build capacity by preparing, conducting, and analyzing the first round of a survey of the regional labor force.
