Letter (with seal) from Friedrich Wilhelm, Kurfurst von Brandenburg, in Cölln [Berlin], to "the Governor, President, Vice-Chancellor and Councilmen of Halberstadt, " ordering a prompt response to the petition from the villages of Zilly, Hauser, and Athenstdet, who claim they have not been able to obtain justice and are threatened with ruin after their proberty was improperly seized.

This letter in a scarcely legible German script is dated 2 January 1667, is addressed to 'Ernsten, Herzogen zu Sachsen' (Ernst I, Duke of Saxe-Gotha and Altenburg), is signed Friedrich Wilhelm, and carries a red wax seal covered in paper. This item bears the earlier collection number (accession number) M5483, and is accompanied by a library catalogue card.
