Oleh karena itu, pendidikan menjadi bagian dari kebutuhan dasar manusia yang perlu dipenuhi, sebagaimana pemenuhan kebutuhan hidup lainnya seperti pakaian, makanan, tempat tinggal dan kesehatan. Pendidikan mengarah pada perkembangan integral kepribadian manusia. Fokus dan tujuan utama pen- didikan adalah menghasilkan kematangan manusia baik secara intelektual, emosional, dan spiritual (Mulyana, 2011: 106; Nasir, 2005: 1).
