Landscape Agronomy

The landscape is widely identified as a relevant target both by integrative policies and across the disciplines dealing with resource management and territorial planning. Landscape agronomy promotes a greater involvement of agricultural sciences into this arena by increasing the attention on the dynamics relating the farming practices to the natural resources and the temporal and spatial patterns of land covers. This book covers the background that improved the transdisciplinary interface of agronomy with spatially-explicit disciplines like landscape ecology and geography both in research and in training programs, in addition to some experiences of participative landscape management. To explain heterogeneous diffusion of generics in OECD countries, we have analyzed genericsdemand as affected by information disparities and quality misperception. A sequential pricecompetition model, with perceived vertical differentiation, allows to re-consider the GenericsCompetition Paradox (GCP). In equilibrium the brand price is persistently higher than thegenerics one, but reduces with the number of generics entrants, showing there is no GCP astraditionally stated and that price competition is not confined to generics. A GCP rather arisesfrom the difference between the price of the brand name drug after patent expiry and before, when the brand producer is a monopolist, as claimed by Kong (2009). Within our model we canconsider dynamic efficiency issues as well, by checking if either a second mover advantage or afirst mover advantage arises from the difference between brand profits and generics profitsas a whole.

This volume maps the multilayered narratives created in cinema on and around Silvio Berlusconi as a means of exploring the ageof Berlusconismo. The analysis crosses chronological and generic boundaries, stretching back to the comedy Italian style, which foreshadows the symbolic meanings incarnated by Berlusconi before he actually entered the public stage. The book delineates a comprehensive cinematic corpus and focuses on a selection of narrative and documentary films, from the proto-Berlusconi everyman of La piĆ¹ bella serata della mia vita (The Most Wonderful Evening of My Life, 1972) by Ettore Scola, to the Berlusconi pretext for political self-reflection of Arance e martello (Oranges and Hammer, 2014) by Diego Bianchi. The author argues that the Berlusconi in these films represents not only the historical persona, but also a pervasive semiotic category in which the recent history of the country is inscribed and Italian society mirrors itself.
