Identity Mediations in Latin American Cinema and Beyond
The appearance of sound film boosted entertainment circuits around the world, drawing cultural cartographies that forged images of spaces, nations and regions. By the late 1920s and early ‘30s, film played a key role in the configuration of national and regional cultural identities in incipient mass markets. Over the course of the twentieth and early twenty-first centuries, this transmedia logic not only went unthreatened, but also intensified with the arrival of new media and the development of new technologies. In this respect, this book strikes a dialogue between analyses that reflect the flows and transits of music, films and artists, mainly in the Ibero-American space, although it also features essays on Soviet and Asian cinema, with a view to exploring the processes of configuration of cultural identities. As such, this work views national borders as flexible spaces that permit an exploration of the appearance of transversal relations that are part of broader networks of circulation, as well as economic, social and political models beyond the domestic sphere.
Blockchain e Regulação - Perspetivas de uma Regulação de Valores Mobiliários sob a Forma de Criptoativos
Este estudo incide sobre a utilização de tecnologia de registo distribuído (DLT), em particular a «blockchain», na emissão, transmissão e guarda de valores mobiliários. A análise demonstra que a complexidade associada à classificação de criptoativos como valores mobiliários está relacionada com a fragmentação regulatória e as diferentes interpretações do conceito de valor mobiliário nos Estados-Membros da UE. A legislação existente em matéria de serviços financeiros impõe restrições significativas à utilização de DLT, em particular ao registo de valores mobiliários em DLT e à consolidação dos serviços de negociação e pós-negociação numa única entidade. Neste contexto, o Regulamento DLT assumirá um papel primordial no futuro da adoção generalizada de DLT no setor financeiro. Por fim, dada a importância da sustentabilidade ambiental, a análise também incidiu sobre a futura regulação dos criptoativos neste domínio.
Translation, interpreting, cognition
Cognitive aspects of the translation process have become central in Translation and Interpreting Studies in recent years, further establishing the field of Cognitive Translatology. Empirical and interdisciplinary studies investigating translation and interpreting processes promise a hitherto unprecedented predictive and explanatory power. This collection contains such studies which observe behaviour during translation and interpreting. The contributions cover a vast area and investigate behaviour during translation and interpreting – with a focus on training of future professionals, on language processing more generally, on the role of technology in the practice of translation and interpreting, on translation of multimodal media texts, on aspects of ergonomics and usability, on emotions, self-concept and psychological factors, and finally also on revision and post-editing. For the present publication, we selected a number of contributions presented at the Second International Congress on Translation, Interpreting and Cognition hosted by the Tra&Co Lab at the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz.
