This book is divided into five sections: the conceptual origins of the TALC, spatial relationships and the TALC, alternative conceptual approaches, renewing or retiring with the TALC, and predicting with the TALC. It concludes with a review of the future potential of the model in the area of the destination development process.
Events and Sustainability
This book examines the links between events and sustainability, with a particular focus on how festivals and events contribute to making places more inclusive, resilient and sustainable. Previous sustainability research in events often focused on reducing the negative environmental impacts, with a corresponding lack of consideration of socio-economic dimensions. More recently, research has begun to consider events in relation to a range of economic and social issues, highlighting the growing importance of examining events through a critical lens. This book adopts a critical and broader approach to event sustainability, arguing that scholars should examine how events might contribute to sustainable development, rather than merely exploring how individual events could be made more sustainable. Accordingly, the contributors to this edited book address how events might change attitudes and behaviours by promoting sustainable lifestyles, communities and technologies. Following a detailed introduction, the book features 16 chapters written by scholars from across the world. The chapters in this book were originally published as a special issue of the Journal of Sustainable Tourism.

Climate Change and Food Security
The book has a comprehensive account of the climate change with possible projections on food security in India. Global scenario of extreme climatic events and the corresponding probable climatic parameters in the years to come are discussed elaborately. The effect of climatic variability on the productivity of crops particularly cereals, pulses, oilseeds, vegetables, fruits and flowers etc and incidences of plant diseases are highlighted. Moreover, the environmental effect on edible mushroom and rubber cultivation is also brought under the discussion in the book. Besides crop productivity, the information on the impact of climatic variability on the productivity/survival of livestock and freshwater fisheries is also made available. To avert weather vagaries, agro-advisory services on national perspectives are rendered with due importance. Priorities in Operational Research to Improve Tuberculosis Care and Control
In 2010, the Stop TB Partnership, the World Health Organization Stop TB Department and the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria jointly organized an expert meeting and workshop on operational research, followed by international consultations. The goal was to identify priority areas in which knowledge gaps hamper optimal implementation of TB control activities. The outcome of these activities formed the basis of this publication. This book is very timely for building the evidence base for effective implementation of TB programs. It provides a clear road map of priorities in operational research to help countries improve implementation of TB control activities in critical areas.The priority operational research questions outlined in this report are also aligned with the Stop TB Partnership's Global Plan to Stop TB 2011-2015.
