Women in Formal and Informal Education
Understanding the processes related to gender construction requires a multi and interdisciplinary approach. Als am 25. März 1957 die „Europäische Wirtschaftsgemeinschaft“ (EWG) gegründet wurde, verpflichteten sich die Mitgliedstaaten auf das Prinzip der Lohngleichheit für Frauen und Männer. In diesem Buch wird gezeigt, wie diese Vorgabe trotz der geschlechterpolitischen Stille der Nachkriegszeit verankert werden konnte und auf dem Weg von Rom nach Amsterdam verschiedene Metamorphosen erfahren hat. In einer institutionalistischen Sicht wird herausgearbeitet, dass die supranationale Gleichheitsidee in einem System, das selbst ständig im Wachstum begriffen ist, ebenfalls wächst und dass mit dem Vertrag von Amsterdam (1997) der Gleichheitsanspruch erheblich ausgeweitet wird. Dieser Wandel des Geschlechts ist Teil einer supranationalen Umcodierung der Gleichheit, die in eine übergreifende globale Struktur eingebettet ist.
