Kim Lim: The Space Between. A Retrospective repositions Singapore-born British artist Kim Lim as a pivotal figure in 20th-century sculpture and printmaking. As part of the first generation of diaspora and immigrant artists who moved to Britain after the Second World War seeking an art education, Lim has often been overlooked. This exhibition at the National Gallery Singapore is an attempt to demonstrate her unique contributions and highlight how she drew upon aesthetic values from material cultures across Asia and Europe to develop her own artistic language. Lim both referenced and resisted the burgeoning Euro-American discourse on Minimalism and abstraction, as well as the narrow cultural labels used to interpret her life and work. Featuring plates of more than 70 selected works, a curatorial introduction and three illustrated essays, this catalogue provides a fresh overview of Lim’s sculptural philosophy and offers new scholarly insights into her intellectual growth, artistic practice and creative relationships.
See Me, See You
See Me, See You is the world’s first exhibition of early video installation of Southeast Asia, spanning the early 1980s to the early 1990s. This catalogue traces the journeys and evolving identities of the ten artists featured in the show and their pivotal experiments with the moving image, which incorporate readymade objects and cathode-ray tube television monitors as well as performative and participatory elements. Their artworks encapsulate the techniques and materials of their generation and mark the emergence of video installation as a form in the region. The publication features interviews, essays, rare archival images and texts, as well as a timeline that highlights the definitive technological moments and inventions that propelled television and video in global and regional contexts.

A history of wildlife in China, tracing the changes the country’s fauna and flora have endured from the rise of the earliest civilizations to the present. China is home to one of Earth’s largest and most diverse mix of plant and animals. Many are among the rarest creatures alive, some now surviving only in captivity. Biomarkers and Immunotherapy of Hepatic-Biliary-Pancreatic Cancers
Hepatic-biliary-pancreatic cancers, mainly including hepatocellular carcinoma, cholangiocarcinoma, gallbladder cancer, are highly aggressive malignancies with few treatment options and poor prognoses. Effects of the traditional systemic treatments such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy, are quite limited to hepatic-biliary-pancreatic cancers. For the patients who suffer from hepatic-biliary-pancreatic cancer and lose the opportunity of radical surgery, few targeted drugs are available. Even for the drugs in clinical trial, potential drug targets and prognostic biomarkers for hepatic-biliary-pancreatic cancer are less studied compared to other common cancers such as lung cancer. Prognostic biomarker study is the initiation to explore new drug targets and revelation of the underlying mechanisms of tumor progression.
