Elizabeth Flinders (b. 1831) was the daughter of Samuel Ward Flinders (1782-1834) who accompanied his older brother Matthew Flinders (1774-1814) on the circumnavigation of Australia in HMS Investigator in 1802.

Two booklets donated by John J. Shillinglaw : The search for Franklin: a suggestion submitted to the British public, written by Augustus Petermann and published in 1852; and The search for Sir John Franklin, written by C. R. Weld and published Saturday, May 24th 1851. The latter booklet contains one newspaper clipping from the Melbourne Herald, October 28th 1853 headed "Hope for Sir John Franklin", and two sheets referring to missing discovery ships including the Felix, and to various letters / articles regarding Sir John Franklin published in The Chronicle, between September 10th - 30th 1851.
