Wearable Technologies in Organizations

Wearable Technologies in Organizations

This innovative book considers the positive and negative impact of wearable technologies on organization and work. First discussing the development and use of this software within the workspace, the author highlights potential issues such as privacy, addiction and lack of work efficiency. Technology has had a major impact on workspace and workforce, and the second section explores how it has emerged as a key driver of collaboration, and what the shortfalls are in terms of autonomy, solidarity and authenticity. Cloud technology, mobile technology, collaboration apps, the Internet of Things, and highly specialized AI bear the promise of a radical enhancement of the way we work and interact. This book discusses the potential future scenarios for wearable technologies in the context of the IoT and as a social and organizational phenomenon.

Bibliographie Linguistique de L'annee 1999

Setting out the historical national and religious characteristics of the Italians as they impact on the integration within the European Union, this study makes note of the two characteristics that have an adverse effect on Italian national identity: cleavages between north and south and the dominant role of family. It discusses how for Italians family loyalty is stronger than any other allegiance, including feelings towards their country, their nation, or the EU. Due to such subnational allegiances and values, this book notes that Italian civic society is weaker and engagement at the grass roots is less robust than one finds in other democracies, leaving politics in Italy largely in the hands of political parties. The work concludes by noting that EU membership, however, provides no magic bullet for Italy: it cannot change internal cleavages, the Italian worldview, and family values or the country’s mafia-dominated power matrix, and as a result, the underlying absence of fidelity to a shared polity—Italian or European—leave the country as ungovernable as ever.

Traktat konstytucyjny Unii Europejskiej TOM II - Proces ratyfikacji traktatu konstytucyjnego – Kryzys konstytucyjny

Niniejsza publikacja – TOM II stanowi ciąg dalszy badań nad procesem ratyfikacji Traktatu konstytucyjnego Unii Europejskiej w ujęciu historycznym. W TOMIE I przedstawiono założenia i kontrowersje wokół procesu ratyfikacji, czym poprzedzono analizę samego etapu ratyfikacji traktatu zakończonego, tzw. „kryzysem konstytucyjnym” we Francji i Holandii, a tym samym w całej Unii Europejskiej, który doprowadził do fiaska w odniesieniu do tej pierwotnej wersji traktatu konstytucyjnego, który musiał zostać zmodyfikowany i otrzymał nową nazwę Traktat lizboński. W TOMIE I przeanalizowano kontrowersje wokół traktatu, które mogły powodować obawy, iż traktat nie zostanie zaak...

Bionanocomposites

Beginning with a general overview of nanocomposites, Bionanocomposites: Integrating Biological Processes for Bio-inspired Nanotechnologies details the systems available in nature (nucleic acids, proteins, carbohydrates, lipids) that can be integrated within suitable inorganic matrices for specific applications. Describing the relationship between architecture, hierarchy and function, this book aims at pointing out how bio-systems can be key components of nanocomposites. The text then reviews the design principles, structures, functions and applications of bionanocomposites. It also includes a section presenting related technical methods to help readers identify and understand the most widely used analytical tools such as mass spectrometry, calorimetry, and impedance spectroscopy, among others.
