El pasado sigue vivo de manera a veces dramática. Una democracia debe pelear por la verdad histórica: revisar el pasado es una virtud de la historiografía, aunque haya una forma de revisionismo culpable, la que olvida con quién estaba la razón en 1936. La razón moderna y la fe en la cordura habían resistido silenciosamente bajo la chatarra fascista de los primeros quince años de posguerra.
