Así como también las características de los pobladores del territorio descubierto. Los españoles fundaron la ciudad de Nueva Cádiz de Cubagua la cual tuvo tres etapas de poblamiento. Se hace especial referencia a la mano de obra de esclavos, a las granjerías y a los rescates que eran los procedimientos para el desarrollo comercial.
