"In October 2006 RMIT University hosted a conference that sought to bring focussed discussion to the difficult relationship between architecture and mass housing design. The RE housing conference provided a number of platforms for that discussion, combining invited speakers with academics and local architectural practitioners in order to engage with the broader, less customised design concerns relevant to the provision of housing at large volumes.
