This work indexes books, dissertations and journal articles that mention television shows. Memoirs, autobiographies, biographies, and some popular works meant for fans are also indexed. The major focus is on service to researchers in the history of television. Listings are keyed to an annotated bibliography. Appendices include a list of websites; an index of groups or classes of people on television; and a list of programs by genre. Changes from the second edition include more than 300 new shows, airing on a wider variety of networks; 2000-plus references (more than double the second edition); and a large increase in scholarly articles. The Pedagogy of Queer TV
This book examines queer characters in popular American television, demonstrating how entertainment can educate audiences about LGBT identities and social issues like homophobia and transphobia. Through case studies of musical soap operas (Glee and Empire), reality shows (RuPaul’s Drag Race, The Prancing Elites Project and I Am Cait) and “quality” dramas (Looking, Transparent and Sense8), it argues that entertainment elements such as music, humour, storytelling and melodrama function as pedagogical tools, inviting viewers to empathise with and understand queer characters. Each chapter focuses on a particular programme, looking at what it teaches—its representation of queerness—and how it teaches this—its pedagogy. Situating the programmes in their broader historical context, this study also shows how these televisual texts exemplify a specific moment in American television.
Internet Lesbian and Gay Television Series, 1996-2014
Created around the world and available only on the Web, internet "television" series are independently produced, mostly low budget shows that often feature talented but unknown performers. Typically financed through crowd-funding, they are filmed with borrowed equipment and volunteer casts and crews, and viewers find them through word of mouth or by chance. The third of five volumes on Internet TV series, this book covers 335 alphabetically arranged gay and lesbian programs, 1996-2014, giving casts, credits, story lines, episode descriptions, websites, dates and commentary. A complete index lists program titles and headings for gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, transgender and drag queen shows.

Introduction to Sarah Shahi
Sarah Shahi is an American actress and former NFL cheerleader. She was born on January 10, 1980, in Euless, Texas, to an Iranian father and Spanish mother. Shahi grew up in a conservative Muslim household and attended Trinity High School where she was a member of the school's cheerleading team. After high school, Shahi studied English and Theatre at Southern Methodist University in Dallas. She started her career as an NFL cheerleader for the Dallas Cowboys from 1999 to 2000. Shahi then moved to Los Angeles to pursue her acting career and landed her first role in the television series "Alias" in 2001. She has since appeared in various television shows and movies, including "The L Word," "Fairly Legal," "Person of Interest," "Chicago Fire," "Reverie," and "Dolly Parton's Heartstrings." Shahi has also received critical acclaim for her lead role in the crime drama series "The Rookie," where she plays the character of Jessica Russo.
