Know Be Do is the "WWJD" of this generation. In the tradition of "What Would Jesus Do?" Know Be Do is more than a book. It's a movement. It transforms the Christian walk from an uphill battle into a guided tour with God. Most Christians lead a life of frustration, futility, and failure. They feel they never live up to God's standards and live out His commands. They define Christianity by what they do and don't do. They're living the Christian life upside down, and they don't even realize it. Know Be Do turns the Christian life right side up. With powerful stories and winsome wit that make it an engaging read, Know Be Do shows you how to intimately, biblically know God, how to accept and employ your position in Christ (be), and how to act on His authority and appropriate His power (do). It connects the dots of the Christian life in a way that makes sense out of a maze of disconnected Christian concepts and equips you for a lifelong and ever-fascinating journey of walking the Christian life right side up. The Fiercest of Warriors? Vero Leland always suspected he was different from others his own age, ever since his childhood attempts to fly. But he never could have predicted the truth—or how much his life was about to change. Soon after his twelfth birthday, Vero learns he is a guardian angel and is abruptly transported to the Ether, the spiritual realm that surrounds the earth. Yet before he can be counted among these fierce warriors, Vero must learn to master his growing powers, competing with other angels-in- training and battling demonic creatures known as maltures as well as mythical creatures such as the leviathan. Until his instruction is complete, Vero needs to alternate between the Ether and his regular life. If he survives training and accepts his destiny—a destiny he did not choose—he must leave everything behind, including his family and the life he loves. The fall of Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos to communist armies in 1975 caused a massive outpouring of refugees from these nations. This work focuses on the refugee crisis and the American aid workers--a colorful crew of malcontents and mavericks drawn from the State Department, military, USAID, CIA, and the Peace Corps--who took on the task of helping those most impacted by the Vietnam War. Experts in Southeast Asia, its languages, cultures and people, they saved hundreds of thousands of lives. They were the very antithesis of the "Ugly American."
A Walk Around Downtown Galax Virginia is a celebration in photographs of life, events, art, culture and people of the City of Galax, Virginia. While some were planned projects, most of the images are from walks around downtown either during events or while my wife and I are simply taking our son for a stroll. It is sometimes easy to forget the beauty of your hometown when you see it every day and I try to capture different angles and views for a new perspective. This book is by no means an official walking tour of the city. The photos are in no particular order. It is rather a product of some people who have asked for me to publish my work in a coffee table book. I will not drop any names here (you know who you are.) This request has inspired me in many of my photographs since it has been in the back of my mind, tugging at me and motivating me to get out and take more photos.
