Peter and the Black Dog

The little girl has an amazing gift, the gift of healing. After being accused of lying, the little girl exiles herself in the infinity of the world of inner self where her only companions are Peter and the nameless black dog. Fearing persecution and ridicule, she builds an impenetrable wall around her that is meant to protect her secret. But at the age of seven the little girl realizes that she is different when a faith healer shows her how wonderful the gift of healing can be. Life is full of temptations and a terrifying encounter with a ouija board stops her from delving into the dark side of magic. She begins to understand the pain of others and embarks on a quest to explore her own spirituality. 'Peter And The Black Dog' is an emotive, original story about a little girl who dares to be different. About the author Louie Jerome was born in England, but she frequented schools in Germany and Hong Kong until she returned to England to Shaftesbury, and then to Carlisle for college where she later settled down. Why isn't the evolution of flight shown in the fossil record? Bugs, birds, bats and dinosaurs flew and are shown fully formed in the fossil record, but there are no animals with halfway wings in the fossil record leading from ground based animals to flying animals. What is desperately wrong with the Grand Canyon if evolution is true? Where are the massive signs of erosion between the sedimentary layers of the Grand Canyon if they were laid down a "million years" at a time? Why does massive erosion only show up at the top? Animals with well-developed eyes show up suddenly in the fossil record as do flying animals. It's the norm for plants and animals to show up in the fossil record with the s...

The Sacandaga Valley

Much of the history of the Sacandaga Valley in upstate New York was lost in the early part of the 20th century with the building of a dam and the flooding of a vast area of homes, farms, and villages. Researched and compiled by historians of three Fulton County communities, The Sacandaga Valley preserves part of that history by showing the people and the life that filled the valley before it was covered with a huge new lake. For years, the fertile valley contained prosperous villages with tradesmen and factories, a rail line, and one of New York's best-known amusement centers and resorts. The Sacandaga River was a lumber-transport route and every spring, thousands of spectators lined its banks to watch the river drives. Then, in 1920, the river was chosen as the site for a dam needed to control spring flooding in cities along the Hudson River, including Albany and Cohoes. In 1930, the valley was flooded creating the Great Sacandaga Lake.

Ben is struggling to find his way in postmodern society; lost in a blizzard of information, his very identity is fading. As he struggles to find his way THE PLAGIARIST - a mysterious, soluble character, half-real, half-imaginary, ever constant but never the same - acts as a guide who shows Ben to the edge of the precipice. But can he be trusted? This curious anti-novel may have all the answers...A riot of experimentation, THE PLAGIARIST is an example of contemporary theory in practice, melding Bloom's theories on influence to a series of unreliable or schizophrenic narrators against a backdrop created by Frederic Jameson. With a narrative fabricated from the effluvia of the now, whoch continues the work started by Burroughs and developed by contemporaries like Kenji Siratori, this book demonstrates how postmodern society can cause the individual to lose themselves and the plot.
