COVID-19 and Social Protection
This book provides a comparative analysis of how communities have developed people-based resilience in response to the global impact of COVID-19. The crisis of the capitalist economy due to border closure, downturn in business, loss of jobs and large-scale destruction of people’s well-being has worsened poverty, and inequality worsened the situation of the already marginalized. At the same time, it has provided the opportunity for indigenous and marginalized communities to innovatively strengthen their social and solidarity economies to respond the unprecedented calamity in a self-empowering and sustainable way. The book explores some of the ways in which local communities have mobilized their cultural resources to strengthen their social solidarity and mitigating mechanisms against the continuing global calamity. It looks at how different communities approach social protection as a way of sustaining their well-being outside the parameters of the ailing market economy and how some of these can provide valuable lessons for strengthening resilience for the future.
Medical Technology and Environmental Health
The proceedings of the Medical and Global Health Research Symposium (MoRes) provides a selection of papers resulting from the conference, either research results or literature review, on advanced medical technology and environmental health in the era of industrial revolution 4.0. Nine major subject areas were presented in the this proceedings volume, comprising halal medicine: challenges and opportunities; infectious and non-infectious diseases; drug discoveries and development; community and occupational health; health policy and health insurance; hospital and nursing management; disaster relief and management; environment health and climate change; and digital and health technology. Tissue Preservation Index (TPI) and Gelification Index (GI) with the Quality of Coal as Well as the Connection to the Acid Water Mining
This research focuses on the coal environment, especially the relation between the depositional environment (TPI-GI) with coal quality and acid water mining. Tissue Preservation Index (TPI) and Gelification Index (GI) are secondary analyzes of the coal depositional environment. The analysis of TPI-GI was carried out based on the analysis of Diesel, 1986. Coal Quality and Acid Water Mining have a relation, especially where coal is deposited, therefore this research studies further how these relations are related. In addition, this study explains a little about coal and its quality and how to correlate the two using the trendline polynomial method.

Contaminated Rivers
This book provides an introductory understanding of fluvial geomorphic principles and how these principles can be integrated with geochemical data to cost-effectively characterize, assess and remediate contaminated rivers. The book stresses the importance of needing to understand both geomorphic and geochemical processes. Thus, the overall presentation is first an analysis of physical and chemical processes and, second, a discussion of how an understanding of these processes can be applied to specific aspects of site assessment and remediation. Such analyses provide the basis for a realistic prediction of the kinds of environmental responses that might be expected, for example, during future changes in climate or land-use.
