Es una apuesta al tiempo rigurosa y actual, de comprender en nuestras narrativas personales los factores biológicos, psicológicos y sociales que han fundado el conocimiento que tenemos sobre nuestra realidad.

En esta obra se describen analítica, reflexiva, comprensiva y críticamente los principales planteamientos de la corriente transhumanista, el mejoramiento humano y la humanidad mejorada (Humanity+), a la luz de las implicaciones éticas, filosóficas, educativas, tecnológicas, religiosas, sociales y culturales de dichos desarrollos. A través del método fenomenológico, los autores buscan establecer conexiones de sentido entre el enfoque transhumanista y la(s) revolucion(es) moral(es) que trae aparejadas, la expansión de la técnica, la tecnología, los desarrollos biotecnológicos, la biogenética y los avances en neurociencia que son pilares en el desarrollo científico actual.

Pensar la educación desde los lentes del humanismo implica retornar, sin melancolías o desesperanzas, al fin último de la acción humana. Esto supone una plataforma de reflexión desde la filosofía porque se cuestiona su acción humana y su injerencia en la transformación de sí mismo y de la realidad; desde la pedagogía porque considera inalienable la idea de la formación del ser humano, de su educabilidad y de cómo orientar su actuar en el mundo, a través de la construcción de la identidad y del actuar, basados en la libertad y en la autonomía.

El espacio académico electivo "Estudios Afrocolombianos y Afrolatinoamericanos" brinda un panorama introductorio al estudio de las cuestiones afrocolombianas y afroamericanas. Acá se analizará la cuestión afrocolombiana en la Constitución de 1991 y, a los 18 años de la Ley 70 de julio de 1993, relevar hasta dónde se ha dado la cuestión de reparación histórica y reconocimiento al derecho al territorio para las comunidades afrocolombianas, así como cartografiar la cuestión en América Latina. Tendrá tres ejes de discusión: el lugar de la raza en la construcción de nación; la producción actual y pasada de cultura negra; y los procesos de racialización y etnización en Colombia y Latinoamérica.
