Conceptos poco manejados en el vocabulario cotidiano en Cuba se vienen impo-niendo desde hace algún tiempo. Entre ellos cobran fuerza los de emprendimiento, emprendedor/emprendedora, asociados a lo que en el plano nacional se ha dado en llamar *cuentapropismo.* Este ha sido el resultado, sin dudas, del proceso de transformaciones económicas emprendido a partir hace ya un lustro. Esto ha permitido que el sector no estatal comience a ser aceptado como un actor importante dentro de los esfuerzos en favor del desarrollo y que sea valorado su protagonismo en nuestra economía; aun cuando falta mucho camino por andar en su legitimación y compromiso social.
Información, comunicación y cambio de mentalidad
Este libro es el resultado del trabajo cotidiano de la Facultad de Comunicación de la Universidad de La Habana y del congreso ICOM que celebra cada dos años: estos son parte de un todo que está abriendo en Cuba los nuevos caminos de la comunicación. Con rigor científico, nivel de reflexión y de información, los autores de esta obra se toman en serio la tarea de explorar la literatura mundial existente, y ello constituye un doble esfuerzo en un país donde el acceso a las fuentes impresas o a Internet es más difícil.
Las Mil y una Adivinanzas
Esta obra se compone de 1 001 adivinanzas. Están distribuidas en tres apartados; en el primero, se presenta una recopilación de 841 de ellas, las cuales han hecho pasar momentos gratos a pequeños y grandes durante generaciones; en el segundo, 100 más inventadas por el autor; y, por último, 60 creadas por alumnos de cuarto grado, sección "B" de la Esc. Prim. "Héroes del 13 de Julio" de Guaymas, Sonora, durante un taller llevado a cabo en el ciclo escolar 2008-2009.

Frida Kahlo. Her photos
When Frida Kahlo, died, her husband Diego Rivera asked the poet Carlos Pellicer to turn the Blue House into a museum that the people of Mexico Could visit to admire the work of the artista. Pellicer selected those of Frida's paintings which were in the house, along with drawings, photographs, books, and ceramics, maintaining the spaces just as Frida and Diego had arranged them t olive and work in. The resto f the objects, clothing, documents, drawings, and letters, as well as over 6.000 photographs collected by Frida in the course of her life, were put away in bathrooms converted into storerooms.
Frontera Madre(hood)
Reflecting on the concept of frontera madre(hood) as both a methodological and theoretical framework, this collection embodies the challenges and resiliency of mothering along both sides of the U.S.-Mexico border. More than thirty contributors examine how mothering is shaped by the geopolitics of border zones, which also transcends biological, sociological, or cultural and gendered tropes regarding ideas of motherhood, who can mother, and what mothering personifies.
