Latin America and the Shifting Sands of Globalization
Latin America occupies an increasingly prominent position within the global political, economic and cultural consciousness, with intra-regional governance structures and multilateral processes now a key topic of interest to foreign policy and international business circles. It has become abundantly clear that outside of Latin America there is a poor understanding of how the shifting sands of regional power are impacting, not only on how regional countries fit into the global system, but also on how intra-regional relations are viewed and managed. The contributions to this collection investigate these issues, examining how changing global power dynamics are in turn impacting on national foreign policies and regional governance structures. Newest Challenges and Advances in the Treatment of Colorectal Disorders; From Predictive Biomarkers to Minimally Invasive Techniques
Colorectal disorders have come to the forefront of modern endoscopic and minimally invasive surgery due to the significant incidence rates and effects on patient quality of life (QoL). Heralded by the rising diagnosis rates of early-onset colorectal cancer, surgical techniques on resection, lymph node harvesting, and bowel anastomosis have been rapidly advancing, in parallel to more minimally invasive approaches such as stenting, tattooing and endoscopic resection. While the role of the colorectal specialist surgeon is central in treating benign and malignant colorectal disease, we must further study the role of novel biomarkers, tumor genomics and proteomics, as well as the use of less invasive methods with regards to the prognosis and outcomes of such patients.

En esta publicación se recogen los trabajos presentados en el XXI Congreso Nacional de Historia del Arte (CEHA), celebrado en el Palacio de la Magdalena de Santander entre los días 20 al 23 de septiembre de 2016. El eje vertebrador de dicho congreso giró en torno a una temática a la vez monográfica y transversal: LA FORMACIÓN ARTÍSTICA. Se aborda este objetivo desde la doble perspectiva que plantean los dos protagonistas principales del diálogo artístico (el creador y el espectador), pasando por el historiador del arte como mediador entre ambos.
