Conocimientos básicos de oncología radioterápica para la enseñanza Pre-grado
Este texto es el resultado de un método pedagógico entre las diferentes universidades del estado español. La especialidad de Oncología Radioterápica se enseña habitualmente en el área de conocimiento de Radiología y Medicina Física y también en la de Medicina (Oncología Clínica). En ocasiones también dispersa en varias asignaturas médicas y quirúrgicas. Por otro lado, tenemos que señalar que no estamos hablando de una materia que se ocupe de tratamientos ocasionales o de enfermedades poco frecuentes. El cáncer es la segunda causa de muerte, la incidencia y prevalencia es alta y el manejo complejo por la dificultad y multidisciplinariedad. Si añadimos que la mitad como mínimo de las neoplasias malignas necesitarán en algún momento de su evolución un tratamiento de radioterapia, está claro que el alumno necesita unos conocimientos básicos de esta disciplina. Dado que la Oncología Radioterápica es una especialidad tecnológica y nosológica con un componente básico de transversalidad, obliga a que su enseñanza incorpore estos elementos matriciales para ser verdaderamente efectiva.
Breast Cancer Radiation Therapy
The book provides, in a comprehensive yet concise way, essential information to improve the knowledge and skills of all healthcare providers involved in the treatment of patients with breast cancer. The content does not focus on general information that is widely available via different sources, but on technical aspects – “hands-on” daily practices and principles of radiation oncology that are not included in other books. Drawing on information taught in courses at e.g. the ESTRO School, as well as the authors’ broad clinical experience, the respective contributions reflect and share the expertise of leading experts in breast cancer radiation therapy, supported by sound data and evidence. Each chapter includes a short introduction summarizing the evidence in the literature and “pearls” (a short bullet-point summary), and is enriched by tables, figures and illustrations to provide a concise, easy-to-follow and appealing overview. The book, containing also useful electronic supplementary material, will be of interest to a wide range of readers, including radiation oncologists, radiation technicians, medical physicists, and others involved in breast cancer care.
Actividades de innovación en la educación universitaria española
La Asociación de Profesores Universitarios de Radiología y Medicina Física (APURF), organiza anualmente un Seminario sobre aspectos relacionados con la innovación docente en la Universidad Española y la implantación de los grados. El XXIX Seminario se celebró en la Universidad de Cantabria en 2012. Las ponencias presentadas son ahora recogidas en esta publicación. Se describen actuaciones y experiencias en el ámbito de la innovación docente universitaria llevadas a cabo en la Universidad española. En cada capítulo de describen experiencias tras la implantación del Grado de Medicina y Odontología, experiencias con el uso de las redes sociales, plataformas de teleformación, cursos de formación continuada y cursos de postgrado.
Actuaciones de Innovación Educativa en la Docencia Universitaria de Radiología y Medicina Física
La Asociación de Profesores Universitarios de Radiología y Medicina Física (APURF) está formada por docentes del ámbito de esta área de conocimiento del sistema universitario español. En este libro se describen proyectos, experiencias y otros aspectos relacionados con la docencia universitaria del área de conocimiento de la Radiología y Medicina Física. En esta publicación se recopilan las ponencias presentadas en los Seminarios celebrados en Santiago de Compostela en el año 2013 y en Granada en el año 2014. Estos seminarios se organizan anualmente desde la APURF de forma itinerante por las distintas universidades españolas. En ellos se debate sobre aspectos relevantes relacionados con la innovación docente, metodologías, recursos y experiencias en las distintas universidades en los títulos de grado, máster y doctorado del ámbito de las ciencias de la salud. Artificial Intelligence Research and Development
Since it was formed in 1994, the Catalan Association for Artificial Intelligence (ACIA) has been promoting cooperation between researchers in artificial intelligence within the Catalan speaking community. The association now holds an annual conference in the Catalan region, which aims to foster discussion of the latest developments in artificial intelligence within the community of Catalan countries, as well as amongst members of the wider AI community. This book presents the proceedings of the 18th International Conference (CCIA 2015), held in Valencia, Spain, in October 2015. It contains full versions of the peer reviewed papers presented at the conference, as well as shorter poster contributions. In addition to this year’s dominant research trends of classification, decision support systems and data mining, many other topics are covered, ranging from theoretical aspects to descriptions of real applications. This overview of current work in the Catalan artificial intelligence community and of the collaboration between ACIA members and the AI community worldwide will be of interest to all those working in the field of artificial intelligence.
Radiotherapy for Non-Malignant Disorders
This volume discusses the background and various clinical applications of radiation therapy in the treatment of non-malignant diseases. It documents the radiobiological and physical principles of treatment and the rationale underlying the use of radiotherapy for various disorders of the CNS, head and neck, eye, skin and soft tissues, bone and joints, and vascular system. In so doing, it draws attention to and elucidates the scope for application of radiotherapy beyond the treatment of malignancies. Both the risks and the benefits of such treatment are fully considered, the former ranging from minor clinical problems to life-threatening diseases.
