Can children theologize without substantial requirements? Initially, the movement of child theology accentuated children’s original theological creativity. But in the last years, several authors point out that children need theological food in order to originally theologize. One of the most appropriate medium are children’s books. This volume presents the lectures of the international symposium “Children’s books: Nurture for children’s theology”. Proven experts demonstrate empirically studied strategies in order to stimulate children’s theological reasoning, be it about God, Jesus as the savior, death, the soul, Christmas and many other theological topics more. The third meeting of the European network of children’s theology took place in April 2013 in Trondheim, Norway. Sturla Sagberg organised this meeting with great care and commitment, and intended to publish the contributions to the conference in a book to make them accessible to the wider public. The approach of children’s theology has been specified and differentiated over the course of the last ten years. This book provides insight into the process and results of different European and North American research projects. As the practice of children’s theology is linked to the “great questions”, which are equally raised by children’s philosophy, the range of topics of both the conference and this book are marked by the terms children’s theology, children’s philosophy and spirituality.

„Ich spreche im Kopf mit Gott“
Sollte das Gebet heutzutage einen Platz im Religionsunterricht haben? Diese Frage ist in der Diskussion und etliche Fachleute befürchten eine Bevormundung sowie Vereinnahmung der Schülerinnen und Schüler. Eine Weise sich dieser Problematik anzunähern ist, die Betroffenen zu fragen - und genau der Perspektive nimmt sich die vorliegende Arbeit an. Dafür wurden Theologische Gespräche mit Kindern im Alter von sieben bis neun Jahren in zwei Grundschulklassen in Kassel durchgeführt. Es wird den Fragen nachgegangen, ob die teilnehmenden Kinder beten, wie sie dies tun und ob beziehungsweise welche Erwartung sie dabei haben. Ausgehend von dem Gesagten werden zudem Parallelen zu verschiedenen Theorien sowie vorangegangenen Studien aufgezeigt. Insgesamt ist ein reges Interesse der Schülerinnen und Schüler an der Thematik Gebet wahrnehmbar und es resultieren für die Lehrperson entlastende Ergebnisse.

Salafismus – eine Herausforderung in Theologischen Gesprächen
Fundamentalismus, Salafismus und Islamischer Staat im Irak und Syrien, Flüchtlingsströme, Terroranschläge und Selbstmordattentate prägen seit geraumer Zeit verstärkt die täglichen Medien. Speziell radikalisierte Salafisten sind ein Nährboden für den Islamischen Staat und die Verfolgung seiner Ideologie. Salafismus, insbesondere im schulischen Kontext, ist ein junges und komplexes Forschungsthema, so dass gezielte (wissenschaftliche) Konzepte, Handreichungen und Leitfäden für Lehrpersonen im Umgang mit salafistischen Lernenden fehlen. Die vorliegende Arbeit unternimmt den Versuch dieser Problematik entgegenzuwirken. Mit Hilfe eigens gesammelten Erfahrungen sowie der theoretischen Auseinandersetzung mit der Thematik wurde ein Modell entwickelt, welches die Herausforderungen in interreligiösen Theologischen Gesprächen mit Salafisten abbildet und Handlungsempfehlungen gibt.
