The creation, success and long-term survival of enterprises are fundamentally linked to the effectiveness of decision-making processes and negotiation capabilities. This book provides an overview of research into how decisions permeate entrepreneurial ventures throughout their lifecycle. A multidisciplinary approach combining psychology, sociology and political science is used to investigate how entrepreneurs address and deal with decision-making. This book explores gender topics related to social transitions and social struggles in the context of the urban transformations accompanying the evolving political economy of China’s New Era, here defined as the period since 2017. Analyzing a range of feminist perspectives, and empirically based feminist research, this book investigates the ways in which national policies and campaigns imposed under the discursive political framing of the New Era seep into the everyday lives of people, influencing how societies are transformed and how urban spaces, gendered social practices, lived experiences, and subjectivities are being (re)shaped and modified. Through explorations of these aspects of the New Era, this book reveals the new challenges and possibilities faced by different gendered social groups in contemporary Chinese society. The papers in this volume continue our focus on emotions of people in Southeast Europe. Grief and sadness are, of course, universal, but they take on different forms of expression. Strong emotional values are often attached to specific foods (e.g. the kurban), usually food is of great importance for labour migrants and in times of crisis. Likewise, dress can be of great emotional significance and value. Wars as well as communist collectivization often lead to emotional consequences such as trauma. Smells and tastes can become expressions of actual or remembered emotions, a fact that can also concern the researchers themselves.
