The 3rd International Conference of Business, Accounting, and Economics (ICBAE) 2022 continued the agenda to bring together researchers, academics, experts and professionals in examining selected themes by applying multidisciplinary approaches. This conference is the third intentional conference held by the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto and it is a bi-annual agenda of this faculty. In 2022, this event will be held on 10-11 August at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto. The theme of the 3rd ICBAE UMP 2022 is “Innovation in Economic, Finance, Business, and Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Economic Development”. It is expected that this event may offer a contribution for both academics and practitioners to conduct research related to Business, Accounting, and Economics Related Studies. Each contributed paper was refereed before being accepted for publication. The double-blind peer review was used in the paper selection.

Women Entrepreneurs and Business Empowerment in Muslim Countries
This book analyzes women entrepreneurs in Muslim countries who are using Islamic values to develop and run small businesses. As a core case study, the authors are using Indonesia as it is the largest Muslim country in the world by population. The project examines supportive policies and economic programs in detail and considers their effects on the businesses of several women entrepreneurs. Additionally, the authors argue that this work-life balance is critical for the definition of a successful female Muslim entrepreneur. The monograph considers whether this new phenomenon indicates a change in the conception of ideal Muslim womanhood or whether it is a limited phenomenon with few impacts beyond Indonesia. The book will appeal to academic and practitioner audience interested in Islam, gender studies, Middle Eastern and South Asian politics, development, anthropology, and social policy.

Women Shaping Islam
In the United States, precious little is known about the active role Muslim women have played for nearly a century in the religious culture of Indonesia, the largest majority-Muslim country in the world. While much of the Muslim world excludes women from the domain of religious authority, the country's two leading Muslim organizations--Muhammadiyah and Nahdlatul Ulama (NU)--have created enormous networks led by women who interpret sacred texts and exercise powerful religious influence. In Women Shaping Islam, Pieternella van Doorn-Harder explores the work of these contemporary women leaders, examining their attitudes toward the rise of radical Islamists; the actions of the authoritarian Soeharto regime; women's education and employment; birth control and family planning; and sexual morality. Ultimately, van Doorn-Harder reveals the many ways in which Muslim women leaders understand and utilize Islam as a significant force for societal change; one that ultimately improves the economic, social, and psychological condition of women in Indonesian society.
Indonesian Women and Local Politics
In an important social change, female Muslim political leaders in Java have enjoyed considerable success in direct local elections following the fall of Suharto in Indonesia. Indonesian Women and Local Politics shows that Islam, gender, and social networks have been decisive in their political victories. In many Muhammadiyah forums, oftentimes, people questioned the nature, content, essence, and importance of Muhammadiyah ideology. If one understood Islam, would be automatically understand the ideology of Muhammdiyah? What were differences of ideologies of Muhammadiyah and the ideology of other Islamic movement? What were the official thoughts that were included in Muhammadiyah ideology? What was the relations between one official thought to another thought in Muhammadiyah such as between the Preface and the Faith Pledge and Aspirations of Muhammadiyah Life, and Basic Strategies of Muhammadiyah? Why and what for did Muhammadiyah formulate the ideas of its ideology in its movement? Was revitalization or the strengthening of Muhammadiyah ideology in the organizational environment needed and what were the steps to do understand Muhammadiyah ideology according to the official thoughts in Islamic movement.
