Abstract: Background Small inter- and intrafractional prostate motion was shown to be a prerequisite for precise radiotherapy (RT) of prostate cancer (PCa) to achieve good local control and low rectal toxicity. As rectal gas and rectal volume are known to have a relevant effect on prostate motion, this study aims to reduce these parameters by using a Low FODMAP Diet (LFD) and to show feasibility of this intervention. Methods We compared a prospective intervention group (IG, n = 25) which underwent RT for PCa and whose patients were asked to follow a LFD during RT with a retrospective control group (CG, n = 25) which did not get any dietary advice. In the planning CT scan and all available co...

Abstract: Background We hypothesized that dominant intraprostatic lesions (DILs) could be depictured by multimodal imaging techniques (MRI and/or PSMA PET/CT) in patients with primary prostate cancer (PCa) and investigated possible effects of radiotherapy (RT) dose distribution within the DILs on the patients' outcome. Methods One hundred thirty-eight patients with localized prostate cancer (PCa) and visible DIL underwent primary external beam RT between 2008 and 2016 with an aimed prescription dose of 76 Gy to the whole prostate. Seventy-five patients (54%) additionally received androgen deprivation therapy. Three volumes were retrospectively generated: DIL using pretreatment MRI and/or PSM...

This volume looks at the latest research techniques to study the interaction of visual spatial learning and attention guidance with behavioral, psychophysiological, and imaging methods. Part One (behavioral methods) focuses on different paradigms of visual search like visual foraging and contextual cueing, and also methods like feature distribution analysis and search in virtual reality. Part Two (psychophysiological methods) integrates innovative uses of classical potential changes like the CDA and N2pc, with multivariate analysis methods and multi-method designs. Part Three (functional imaging) covers lesion-behavior mapping, retinotopic and grid cell mapping methods for human fMRI, as well as functional registration by hyperalignment and simultaneous eye-tracking and fMRI. In Neuromethods series style, chapters include the kind of detail and key advice from the specialists needed to get successful results in your laboratory. Cutting-edge and comprehensive, Spatial Learning and Attention Guidance is a valuable resource for all researchers and scientists who are interested in learning more about the relationship between attention and memory.
