El proyecto Rostros de Santa Marta. El arte, la cultura y el deporte es una compilación de entrevistas y biografías de 26 personajes de Santa Marta, redactadas por los estudiantes de los programas de Medicina y Enfermería, Derecho y Antropología, correspondiente al primer semestre del año 2018. Con los objetivos planteados en este proyecto se estimula el pensamiento crítico, el hábito lector, la documentación, la producción textual a partir de la interrelación estudiantes-entrevistados, orientados por el docente catedrático Lic. Martiniano Acosta. Finalmente, cabe destacar el apoyo de la editorial de la Universidad, la disposición de los entrevistados y de los estudiantes para el desarrollo de esta actividad lo que ha dado como resultado la publicación de Rostros de Santa Marta. Nanoplasmonics
Nanoplasmonics is one of the most important growth areas of this century. It is part of nano-optics and nanophotonics and deals with oscillations of electrons in metallic nanoparticles and nanostructures. Also, it is a multidisciplinary subject covering atomic, molecular, and solid-state physics, as well as much of chemistry. Nanoplasmonics makes it possible to combine the nanoscale properties of smart devices with their optical frequencies of operation. Borrowing Costs and The Role of Multilateral Development Banks: Evidence from Cross-Border Syndicated Bank Lending
Cross-border bank lending is a growing source of external finance in developing countries and could play a key role for infrastructure financing. This paper looks at the role of multilateral development banks (MDBs) on the terms of syndicated loan deals, focusing on loan pricing. The results show that MDBs' participation is associated with higher borrowing costs and longer maturities---signaling a greater willingness to finance high risk projects which may not be financed by the private sector---but it is also associated with lower spreads for riskier borrowers. Overall, our findings suggest that MDBs could crowd in private investment in developing countries through risk mitigation.
