Penny Ante Feud Collector's Edition Issues 1-8: Reisssue of our first eight side-sticthed issues now in glorious perfect bound format. Penny Ante Feud is about the here and now, about making it count, keeping our promise that if we have something to say, we say it, before it's too late. And, by heck, being democratic in the whole thing. Long poem or short, each author has equal stake in each issue: one poem, by God, just one poem. Make it a good one.

The Penny Ante Club

Excerpt from The Penny Ante Club: A Partial Record This was so well understood that the remark passed without notice. Brown's library was well stocked with books and other things. The four pulled at their pipes in silence for a few moments. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Penny Ante Feud 13

Penny Ante Feud 13: Between the shadow and the soul The space in between: as thinking animals these gaps are the source of endless puzzles and our instinct to connect seemingly unrelated things and concepts: life-love-sex-death-god, the list goes on...this practice is where we as poets find answers, or at least find clues, or maybe just more questions, who really knows? In this edition of Penny Ante Feud we attempt to make an abundance of connections; in fact, if you count the number of hyphenated words or phrases in this issue it will surely astound. And if they're not actually on the page the effect is the same. There must be something to it, it's never purely unconscious, but perhaps subc...

Penny Ante Feud 10

This, the 10th edition of Penny Ante Feud is called "The Same Premise of Disaster." Borrowing the these words from James Douglas Morrison it is true that this is where friends we all meet, and here we are, and it's proof that we're doing something right, giving the premise of single poem offerings a shot, most people getting it from the get go, and we have, as a result, a special small press magazine; each issue may be growing steadily in size but we'll always be the small press. After all, we publish poetry, and one poem at a time mind you.

Tupitsyn's LACONIA: 1,200 Tweets on Film was the first book of film criticism written entirely on Twitter. LACONIA experimented with new modes of writing and criticism, updating traditional literary forms and practices like the aphorism and the fragment. Re-imagining the wound-and-quest story, the love narrative, and the female subject in love in the digital age, Love Dog is the second instalment in Tupitsyn's trilogy of immaterial writing. Love Dog is an art book that is part love manifesto, part philosophical notebook, part digital liturgy.

Reconsolidation

Memory assists perception, grounding our understanding of those around us and those who have left their traces through time -- but how reliable is memory really? Memory is malleable, shaped and shifted through consolidation and reconsolidation. Consolidation is the neurological process that stores memories after an event's occurrence; reconsolidation refers to a process whereby consolidated memories later become unstable, causing false or loose recall. Reconsolidation: Or, it's the ghosts who will answer you is a lyrical montage born out of the eternal loss of a loved one. Powerfully crafted during grief's inertia, Janice Lee elegantly weaves the present with recollections of a tenuous past, arresting memory's flexible and vulnerable position in the lifelong process of mourning. A eulogy for a loved one -- pure and honest -- Reconsolidation is a poetic search for a lost connection.

The Plum in Mr. Blum's Pudding

When LA native Tosh Berman left the States behind, moving with his wife to Japan to care for her mother, he was inspired to document his experiences; The Plum in Mr. Blum's Pudding is the stunning result. Gracefully moving between the quirky and earnest, these poems describe the liminal space of the foreigner caught between the strange and the familiar. Originally published in 1990 as a small hardcover edition of 200 copies, this new edition acts to preserve this work and features an introduction by art critic and curator Kristine McKenna, and afterword by Ruth Bernstein.
